Polaroid PDC-640M (2001)

Polaroid tried to keep pace with the rapidly evolving digital camera market and announced a revamped PDC-640 model with built-in 56K modem at PMA 2001. Alas too late as it seemed. The company had plans for this camera dating back to July 2000. The consumer had to register an account with the Polaroid website and these credentials were stored inside the camera for future use. So all uploaded images went straight to the Polaroid website. The camera was never marketed.
