Minolta Dimage RD 3000 prototype (1998)

Shown at the Photokina 1998 and Comdex Fall 1998, Minolta's Dimage RD 3000 is based on the analog Vectis cameras and therefore uses the V-mount for Vectis lenses. Although quite a few lenses were available, the RD 3000's downfall was at hand. As Minolta finally marketed the RD 3000 in 2000, sales of analog cameras were already slowly dropping. Since they also decided to use the less popular Vectis lenses instead of the more popular Dynax/Maxxum lenses it was clear the (bulky) camera wouldn't survive.
