Konica MC-01 (1993)

Another first on digicammuseum.com and almost an impossible find is this digital camera prototype. Until now it was unknown to the public. Therefore there is only ample information available. This is also the only picture I could find. The MC-01, aimed at prosumers, was equipped with a 1.3M pixel FIT-CCD (Frame Interline Transfer CCD) which was used in high definition TV cameras and a single layer color filter.

The camera was designed as a business use digital still camera which enabled the user the output of captured images to a personal computer. The images would also be stored on SRAM card. Compression was based on the ADCT algorithm. The camera was never marketed. As you can see from the specs it was not a lightweight camera and not exactly palm-sized.
