Premier DC-600 (1998)
The Premier DC-600 was the OEM basis for quite a few manufacturers. The original manufacturer however was still the Pretec Corporation. You can read about it in the OEM page of this website. The camera was built by Pretec in 1997 and marketed until 2000. Some had USB connectors, some serial and I will show this to you in the pictures. The only thing that changed over the years was the amount of internal memory and the afore mentioned computer jack. Rumour has it that a DC-620 also exists, well it does, as you can see in my prototypes & rarities section but this was only a prototype model. All cameras ever marketed were DC-600 digital cameras, it's only the label underneath that was taken over from the prototype (DC-620). This confuses people at times show let me show you the differences.
In the picture gallery above you can see the two models in question. There were only these two models and nothing else. One was the older model with serial interface (labeled DC-600 underneath) and the other was the later USB version (labeled DC-620 underneath). Got that? Both cameras had the very same Premier DC-600 logo on the front. The USB model was much more advanced, the menu buttons were slightly different and the camera menu GUI was much better. These two models were licensed to a lot of companies and thrown on the market in various versions. It's the label underneath that distinguishes them from each other. This is the first website ever to clearly demonstrate those differences.
You can also identify this by looking at the serial numbers.
The 1998 serial version has the serial number:
P60030700001 (P=Premier, 600=model, 307 = ?, 000001 = 1st model produced)
The 1999 USB version has the serial number:
P62020700154 (P=Premier, 620=model, 207 = ?, 000154 = 154th model produced)
