Vivitar ViviCam 3500 (1999)

The OEM model to this camera was first shown at PMA '99. Vivitar did not announce it publically in a press release. Vivitar marketed a lot of digital cameras in those days. All of them were OEM models, so I guess Vivitar didn't bother much announcing them separately. The ViviCam 3500 appeared on their website in mid-2000. So this might be a fine example of how to classify the age of a digital camera. Seen at a tech fair in 1999, marketed in 2000. Since I wrote earlier that tech fair dates and press releases prioritize over market availability I stick with 1999.

The ViviCam 3500 was labeled DC1500 underneath and in the software because it was yet another Pretec OEM model as you can see in the OEM section of my website.
