Toshiba PDR-M1 (1998)

The PDR-M1 was announced on 1998-06-01 together with the PDR-5. The PDR-M1 was demonstrated on Windows World '98 Expo. Inside was a 1/2" CCD sensor that started out with an odd resolution of 1352x1070 but is instantly downsampled to 1280x1024. It had a few nice features like the rotating lens cover, a variety of shooting and playback modes, macro mode of 9cm, 2x digital zoom, single-dial four-way controller for easy access of functions and an optical viewfinder. The camera was ready to shoot within 6 seconds after turning it on. Sierra's Imaging Expert was also included in the bundle making the camera a very good deal.

Here's an in-depth review of the Toshiba PDR-M1 from Imaging Resource.
