Polaroid PDC-800 (1997)

The infamous and almost unknown Polaroid PDC-800. Announced by Polaroid on 1997-02-16. The camera was OEM licensed from Ricoh. For reasons unknown to me, Polaroid advertised this camera on their website in the real estate section for realtors. In their own words (and I ain't kidding you) 'At the moment, the PDC-800 is the best digital camera available for real estate agents purposes. Real estate seminar speakers and technology analysts are unanimous in their endorsement of the PDC-800'. They even claimed that this camera would not become obsolete for a whole year and would not drop under $799 for a whole nine months.

Following these marketing strategies it came to no surprise that the camera remained almost unknown to the average consumer and is quite hard to find nowadays.
