Leaf Lumina Medical (1994)

The Leaf Lumina was announced 1994 and is well documented here and on the internet but if you know our site by now, then you won't be surprised that we managed to dig up a rare version of the Lumina only few knew about. We pride ourselves in presenting digital camera rarities and oddities and this camera is no exception. The Lumina was intended for all sorts of applications, studio photography (maybe the most common field), industrial, scientific and medical applications.

For the medical applications Leaf (or Scitex Corp.) produced a special version called the Leaf Lumina Medical. The Lumina Medical also had it's own serial number range starting with MED0xxxx. The body of the Lumina and the Lumina Medical were identical, same connectors, same buttons, size and weight. Unfortunately also were the manuals. Beside the extemely rare Windows software there was a disk in the bundle that read "custom" and may have included special software for the medical field. Sadly due to the age of the disk it is not readable anymore by any disk drive. So I think the main difference may have been shutter times or exposure settings.
