Jenoptik JD800i (1999)

The Jenoptik JD800i was one of the famous Minton Optics clones. Made in Taiwan and licensed to Jenoptik Imaging Systems. Jenoptik only marketed crappy OEM models and therefore satisfied the need for low-budget, entry-level digital cameras. That's all there is to say about them. Given the specs of the camera it wasn't marketed before 1999. According to the Jenoptik website this model already featured a USB interface, a macro mode from 22 - 25cm, automatic white balance, self timer, could handle Smart Media cards from 2 - 16MB and the interpolation to 1280x960 pixels. In this case the model name matched the resolution of the CCD.
