Dycam Model 4XL (1993)

The Model 4XL was the same as the Model 4 but with additional features like speaker holes at the front of the camera and an increased memory of 4MB. Now I am going to let you in on a secret. Dycam only made the 3XL and 4XL to service the needs of the real estate appraisal industry after having researched new means of marketing strategies. Here's another secret. The reason why Dycam cameras are so rare is because Dycam only sold 8,000 cameras between 1990 and 1996!

Thanks to an acquaintance of mine we were able to be the first ones on the internet to actually show a real picture of a Dycam Model 4XL! He is also the only collector in the world, that I know of, who actually owns a Dycam Model 4XL. You can easily distinguish a Model 4 XL from a Model 4 by looking at the speaker holes in the front. The Dycam Model 4XL was the only Dycam digital camera which had them. Another interesting fact is that after Dycam licensed the Model 1 to Logitech, Logitech and Dycam apparently co-developed a new imaging chip which can be seen under the hood of the Model 4XL.
