Agfa ePhoto 1680 (1998)

The futuristic looking ePhoto 1680 was made by Sanyo and designed by a german company called Industrial Design Rubner. It was the successor of the ePhoto 1280. The only thing it adopted from it's predecessor were the swivel feature and the lens, the smart media memory card and the LCD viewfinder. Underneath there was a new firmware, new software and a new CCD sensor. The body color changed from black to silver. The PhotoGenie software inside interpolated the resolution to 1600x1200 pixels (1680 mode, hence the model name of the camera). The procession speed of a recorded image was reduced to 6.5 seconds and a 2x digital zoom was added (VGA mode only).
