Sony MVC-FD88 (1999)

Announced 1999-06-10. Not a successor to previous Mavicas but completely new model. It featured a faster 4 speed drive, a new 1.3MP CCD for better resolution and quality, MPEG movie recording of up to 60 seconds, 8x optical and 16x digital zoom. Apart from the CCD the rest was basically identical to the MVC-FD83.
