Olympus C-2000 Zoom (1999)

Announced by Olympus on 1999-02-16. The C-2000 Zoom was not a re-vamped earlier model but completely re-designed. Instead of plastic it featured an alloy body. The camera had a lot of features that were not easily found in other digital cameras. Even a IR remote control unit was in the package. Although other flash cards were available, Olympus still hung unto the Smart Media card.

The C-2000 Zoom was top of the range when it came out. It also gained popularity because of a hidden feature that was not documented in the manual. When going into Shutter Priority mode one could change the exposure duration to 1, 2, 4, 8 or 16 seconds. This allowed for some very nice effects in low light. For storage solutions Olympus offered a DIMO adapter that allowed a Olympus MO drive to be connected to any Olympus digital camera (up until the C-2500L).
